Universal Orlando offers family-friendly Mardi Gras

Leave it to Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Florida to put a family-friendly spin on Mardi Gras. The street party lasts through April 14, combining theme park attractions with parades (colorful beads will be tossed from floats), costumed performers, New Orleans bands, Cajun cuisine and concerts from the likes of B.o.B, Jill Scott, Diana Ross and Boyz II Men. Universal Orlando Resort is offering a Mardi Gras Getaway package that includes three nights at a Universal partner hotel, a two-day base ticket to Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure, and free transportation to the resort. Packages start at $249 per adult, including taxes. Upgrade to an on-site hotel and get free Express access at the theme parks (worth $87 per person per day).
