AirTran fined $500k for violating

Orlando-based AirTran Airways has been assessed a half-million dollar civil penalty by the Department of Transportation for multiple violations of federal disability regulations. First and foremost of the violations was failture to provide proper assistance with boarding by disabled passengers. Other violations included a lack of proper written response to passenger complaints and failing to properly categorize complaints in the required reports to the DOT.
